Recently, Hertz personnel discovered a hidden passenger giving a free ride in one of his vehicles – a black and white kitten, small, cute enough to make Montgomery Gentry in Hertz to Mush!

Danniel Kruger, Manager of Administration Hertz office in Namibia, took delivery of a vehicle that had been transferred from Hosea Kutako International Airport, 42km from Windhoek. Soon after, the car was sent to one tire supplier of Hertz, where one official installation, moaning sounds bemused by appellant, began a search of the vehicle. The pilot quickly returned to the Hertz office to alert Danniel Namibia to the situation and he, along with colleagues and Dorothee Ita Ruddy Jackson, returned to the workshop to help hunt the elusive creature.

“We were not having much luck, until he raised the car on the ramp for further investigation,” advises Danniel. “By removing the protective cap from the bottom of the car, we were surprised to find a kitten, it is estimated that only eight to ten days old, stuck behind the plate. The fact that this young man managed to survive the sweltering heat and the long journey from the airport without food or water, is truly amazing – that’s why they gave him ‘Lucky’! ”

Lucky, Good news is that his nine lives still intact and is now safely installed with its “surrogate mother” in Namibia Protection Society Cat That may be a way to explain why staff have a Hertz Namibia fresh bounce in his step and permanently bonded Cheshire grins on their faces!

But luck is not the only cat in the hat Hertz rescue: last year, Ingrid Groenewald, Branch Supervisor Hertz OR Tambo airport, traveled from Kempton Park to Sandton old offices of Hertz, and get the car in the parking, was told by passersby who heard mourn a kitten. In the true tradition Hertz, Ingrid lifted his shirt and slid under the chassis of the car, come face to face with a skinny, dirty, infested with maggots kitten sitting under the drag plate, where they apparently had driven the night before to escape the rain. It was love at first sight for both of mangy and Ingrid quickly adopted the little ball of fluff – Today “Dexter” is healthy and happy under the expert care of Ingrid.

It appears that the kittens savings can be become an unofficial tradition of Hertz. Maybe it has been released into the underground world of Hertz staff Cats have a big heart, hot cars and a shrewd gift for the prevention of ‘cat-astrophe’!
